Happy Thanksgiving

Over the river, and through the wood,
To Grandmother's house we go;
The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh
through the white and drifted snow.
Over the river, and through the wood -
Oh, how the wind does blow!
It stings the toes and bites the nose
As over the ground we go.
Over the river, and through the wood,
To have a first-rate play.
Hear the bells ring, "Ting-a-ling-ding",
Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day!
Over the river, and through the wood
Trot fast, my dapple-gray!
Spring over the ground like a hunting-hound,
For this is Thanksgiving Day.
Over the river, and through the wood -
And straight through the barnyard gate,
We seem to go extremely slow,
It is so hard to wait!
Over the river, and through the wood -
Now Grandmother's cap I spy!
Hurrah for the fun! Is the pudding done?
Hurrah for the pumpkin pie!

Sorry, comrades, but when it comes to the bedroom I’ll have to vote Tory.

But then I belong to that small, deviant group of liberal-lefty-pro-feminist men who find conservative/right-wing women super sexy. In an age when anything goes — at least in terms of sexual pleasure — ours is a lust that dare not speak its name.
and -

Right-wing women have always had a bad press when it comes to sex. They are usually portrayed in novels, sitcoms and films as sexually uptight, prudish and repressed by Victorian values or religious faith. Sex for them, goes the stereotype, is something one does for purposes of procreation. By contrast, women of the left are seen as sexually liberated and thus more open-minded when it comes to sexual experimentation.
That may have been true in the 1970s, but nowadays it’s more likely to be women of the left who are uptight and repressed — and that’s due to a sexual correctness that has come in the wake of third-wave feminism. Don’t get me wrong. Feminism has done a lot of good for women — and men — but it aims to take all the dirt and dark stuff out of sex. Consequently, the bedroom has become a minefield where you have to take care what you say, lest you cause an explosion of feminist wrath.
There is so much more.  I found the entire article amusing.  Especially the second to last sentence.
Read it all  here:  My secret lust for right wing women

Too bad right wing women don't feel the same about "liberal-lefty-pro-feminist men".  Too bad for them, that is.

Sexual Harassment?

the Other McCain  2014

Found at Maggie's Farm  1951

Two very different articles.   Sixty-three years in between the two incidents and much has changed.  I feel pity for the troubled women of today.  So much for the state education promoting self-esteem.

I have been verbally noticed by men on the streets.  Not so much now.  The first time was when I had just turned 13.  It made me uncomfortable and I blamed it on the slacks my mother thought looked great on me.  I never wore them again.  Who knows?  As I grew older, I noticed that my hair was the topic of conversation from the guys.  When I worked in an office building on Hollywood Blvd, I was verbally noticed every day.
I never felt harassed or threatened.  In fact I smiled inside.  It was nice my efforts to look attractive were appreciated.  At the same time I did not look or acknowledge the loquacious gentlemen.  Since I did not look at them, for the most part I have no idea of their race and what they were wearing.  Hollywood Blvd was at the time (and probably still is) teeming with all manner of folk, up and down the food chain.
I was comfortable with my power.

ps:   Miss Manners has something to say on the subject!

and do these ladies look unhappy?
