picture of the year!

thanks, theo!

is there no end to his vanity?

you got me

we all have "all about me" moments - tis natural, i suppose. but for the president of the usa to be so terminally and continually vain is beyond my imagination.
i miss george w bush even more now

too busy being president - yeah right

my job was never an excuse for me to avoid jury duty

and i probably was more valuable to my company than he is to the country

gaia payback

Throughout human history mankind has had trouble accepting that there is such a thing as natural disaster, a sometimes unpredictable, sometimes unavoidable event, which causes hardship and horror. In earlier eras we described them as ‘acts of God’; later we believed they were brought about by demonic forces; now we say they are payback for our lust for wealth and affluence. The language changes, but the backward idea – that powerful, faceless forces are trying to correct us – remains strikingly similar. And the consequence, then as now, is that we spend more time pointing the finger of blame at greedy mankind than we do offering solidarity to the victims of natural disasters and devising ways to develop and industrialise societies everywhere so that they are better able to withstand nature’s alleged fury. And for that, these societies will need unbridled affluence.

tis friday night....

tis friday night. unemployment is still high (including mine). our president is dodging responsibilities and creating havoc. the iranians are still protesting their illegal regime. the democrats are behaving like the dirty politicians they are. and deciding not to run again. most of our country is in a deep freeze - thanks of course, to all that co2 us nasty humans are emitting. nasty islamic suicide bombers continue to kill innocents - or try to.
and i am sitting here cozy and warm, drinking a nice chianti, trying to assemble the new desk and hutch i bought.

one of my first purchases when i do get a job is an electric screw driver.
