The city violent crime rate for Chicago in 2012 was higher than the national violent crime rate average by 150.5% and the city property crime rate in Chicago was higher than the national property crime rate average by 45.23%.
I found it very difficult to find out what the percentage of SNAP benefits is for Chicago, not very well publicized. For some strange reason.
However the maximum amount of benefits (supplemented by the state) in Chicago is much, much higher.
I don't want to turn this comment into a article but I would say that the amount of largess poured into Chicago by the Federal Government, the make-work, the high levels of extra services available make a big difference and direct comparison to Owsley Ky unfair.
Wow you did a lot of homework on that! More than I did. I did read more statistical information about the county before I found the article I posted.
I am glad I posted the article to her post for earlier she was going on about how tolerant and compassionate she was. A friend of hers - not known to me - compared her original post to my post and questioned her compassion.
I try not to judge .. too harshly ..
